DEMANDS BY JAPAN
EAST INDIES TRADE FIRM DUTCH POLICY (Reed. June 3. 11 a.m.) BATAVIA, June 2. Japan has requested the Netherlands East Indies to supply her with more raw materials. Rubber, tin, copra, palmpith, and quinine comprise the minimum requirements, which greatly exceed what the Netherlands Indies-is at present willing to grant. The Dutch policy is to let Japan have normal requirements for home consumption. Huge supplies of rubber and tin acquired by Japan in IndoChina and Thailand are greatly in excess of her own requirements. The Netherlands Indies is firmly resolved u n'me of her exports to Japan shall )e reshipped to the Axis partners.
