MAORI WOMEN’S CLUB
OFFICERS RE-ELECTED All but one of the officers of the Gisborne Maori Women’s Club were re-elected at the annual meeting, held in the clubrooms in Peel street, the exception being the secretary, K. Ferris, who wished to relinquish her post. At the request of the meeting, however, Mrs. Ferris agreed to continue her work for the time being.
It was announced that members of the club would pack parcels for troops overseas this week, and the working committee would assist in providing entertainment for the men on leave from Papakura camp on Friday, June C. Arrangements also would be made for serving mornTiig tea and providing a short entertainment programme at Poho-o-Rawiri on June 11 ' for the Vice-Regal party. -
■ Speakers expressed keen appreciation of the support given to the club’s patriotic work throughout the past year by the general public.
