£1,250,000 FIRE DAMAGE
NEW JERSEY WATERFRONT FOOD FOR BRITAIN LOST (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. June 2, 9 a.in.) NEW YORK. June 1. Fire swept the Jersey City-Eric railroad terminal, covering 35 acres on the waterfront, and destroying an abattoirs, two grain elevators, three piers, and 15 barges loaded with thousands of tons ot wheat and hundreds of head of cattle destined for Britain. Witnesses said the fire started in six places simultaneously.
The fire raged on the Jersey City waterfront for six hours. The damage is estimated at £1,250.000.
