MEMORIAL SERVICE
REBEKAH LODGE NIGHT A rrtemorial service was included in the recent meeting of the Gisborne Rebekah Lodge, No. 8, when an attendance of 30 members was presided over by the noble grand, Sister Traue. The death was reported of a past grand, Sister Proudfoot, who had beeh a member of long standing. The noble grand asked members to stand in silence and a vote of deepest sympathy was extended to her husband and five children. The chaplin then gave the service, which had been dispensed with at the funeral. One candidate was initiated. Several offers of help were received for the war effort, and a further sum raised to continue making articles.
It was announced that the next lodge, night would be a social evening for a benefit, and the evening was concluded after members had partaken of supper served by the social committee.
