WOMEN’S AUXILIARY
AIR FORCE DUTIES POSTINGS TO HAREWOOD (Par Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Further infonnation was supplied last evening by the Minister of Defence, the Hon. F. Jones, regarding the activities of the Women’s Auxiliary Air Foi-ce. The scheme has now progi’essed sufficiently to warrant its extension beyond tlxe initial stage dui'ing which members of the auxiliary were being gradually absorbed into the Royal New Zealand Air Foi’Ce station at Rongotai. It is now proposed to post approximately lit) selected applicants to the Royal New Zealand Air Force, Harewood, by the end of this week and they will take over a variety of positions, including mess staff, clerical work, fabric woi'k and parachute packing. "The selection of applicants for the Women’s Auxiliary is proceeding steadily,” stated Mr. Jones, “and it is anticipaed that postings to Wigram will commence about the middle of June, while the ground-training school at Levin will be dealt with approximately a month later.”
