Last Night’s Forecast Forecast. Winds south-westerlies prevailing fresh to strong generally and of gale force at times. Seas: In New Zealand waters rough generally with a considerable south-westerly swell developing on the East Coast. Eastern Tasman Sea: Fresh southwesterly winds and rather rough seas in the northern portion and strong south-westerlies and rough seas in the southern portion. Weather: Changeable with occasional passing showers in most districts. Temperatures: Cold generally with some snow or. the ranges of the South Island. To-Day’s North Island Report Low temperatures, ranging from 52 degrees at Cape Reinga down to 45 degrees at Wellington, were reported at North Island stations at 9 a.m. to-day. Winds, light in force, were variable, with a general tendency to the south, and overcast conditions, with patches of blue sky at some stations, were also general. Visibility was good to excellent at .all stations, however, and the sea was slight to moderate, except at Cape Reinga. where rough off-shore conditions prevailed. Midday .Forecast Fresh, but gradually decreasing, west to south-west winds. Weather fair to fine. Temperatures cold, with frosts tq-night. Seas moderate inshore.
