ENCOURAGING TONIC
LOVERS OF FREEDOM CANBERRA APPRECIATION (Reed. May 29, 11.50 a.m.) CANBERRA, May 29. Political leaders in Canberra were deeply impressed by President Roosevelt’s speech, combined with the significance of the President’s proclamation. The Prime Minister, Mr. R. G. Menzies, said that besides commanding the support and endorsement of the majority of American people, the speech would afford tremendous encouragement to British peoples. The Leader of the Opposition, Mr. J. Curtin, expressed the opinion that the President’s words would be a great tonic to every democrat and every lover of freedom throughout the world.
