Mr. W. A. Sawyer, postmaster in Marton, has been promoted to be postmaster in Hawera in succession to Mr. E. O. List, who becomes chief ?■ '- master at New Plymouth. Mr. Sawyer was due to retire at the middle of this year, but is being retained in the service because of the war.
