DEATH OF CRICKETER
The death in action , .of G. G. Macaulay, the noted Yorkshire allrounder, was reported a few days ago. He was rioted chiefly as a. bowler, and performed many remarkable feats with the ball. In a first-class career extending frorn 1920 to 1935 he scored 6212 runs at 18 an innings and took 1838 wickets at 17 runs each. He played in one test against Australia at Leeds in 1926- On that occasion he and George Geary were associated in a ninth-wicket partnership of 75 when England was in a bad way.
