U.S. ARMY EXPANSION
EXTRA VOTE NEEDED PLAN FOR 34,600 PLANES • (Reed. Feb. 25, 11 a.m.) WASHINGTON, Feb, 24. President Roosevelt has asked Congress for additional army appropriations totalling £953,000,000. The request included £222,000,000 in cash and £131,000,000 in contract authority for expansion of the air force. It is understood that the programme provided for 3900 additional planes, making the total on order 34,600.
