The Mayor of Wairoa, Mr. H. L. Harker, returned to Wairoa during the week-end after a visit to Wellington. Mr. W. G. Brownlie, secretary of the Wairoa Young Farmers’ Club, has returned to Wairoa after a visit to Wellington, where he attended a meeting of the executive of the Young Farmers’ Club movement. Notice to report at Levin for training as a pilot in the Royal New Zealand Air Force has been received by Mr. N. A. Williamson, son of Mr. and. Mrs. Arnold Williamson, Iranui road, Gisborne. He will leave Gisborne on Friday, and will report at the ground training school at Levin' on Saturday.
