Weights for events at the V.R.C meeting at Flemington on Saturday are as follow: — Flemington Handicap. Dashing Cavalier 9.5, Apostrophe 9.3, Wilson 8.6, Tidal Wave 8.4, Companion 7.9, Said 7.3. Brunswick Stakes. Reading 9.5, Bankshaw 8.6, Wilson 8.4, Nightbeam 7.2.
Celeris has been scratched for the Newmarket Handicap. Scratchings for the. Newmarket Handicap are as follow: Pure Gold, Moonray, Plistorian, Linkboy. High Caste came to no harm as a result of his brilliant effort in winning the Futurity Stakes and is sure to be a runner in the Newmarket Handicap. El Golea felt the effects of Saturday's effort in the Hawksburn Handicap and may miss the Newmarket Handicap. Tranquil Star was galloped on in the Futurity Stakes. His hind leg was stripped but the filly is to oppose Lucrative in the St. Leger.
