AIRMAN ENTERTAINED (Herald Correspondent.) Saturday evening’s dance, held in the Puha Hall in honour of Pilot Officer OlilTe Richmond, was well attended. The dance music was supplied by Miss L. Ruru, and enjoyable extras were contributed by Mrs. S. Bridge and Miss N.’ Coates. Mr. R. Richmond acted as M.C. Messrs. Cameron and S. Bridge wished Pilot Officer Richmond the best of luck, and, on behalf of the residents, Mr. A. Newton presented him with a well-filled pocket wallet. Pilot Officer Richmond briefly replied. Supper was served from tables decorated in shades of purple and yellow. Among those present were Mesdames H. Richmond, A. S. F. Brown, J. McGregor, S. Bridge, A. Cameron, J. Drummond, G. Brown, J. Graham, T. Atkins, A. Newton, Drummond, and T. Bennett; Misses M. and N. Newing, N. Coates, J. McKenzie, M. Bayley, J. Cameron, M. and R. Newton, B. Hall (New Plymouth), G. Drummond, B. Thompson, E., M., and A. Pevreal, E. Tuapawa, M. Stevenson and S. Doran. Party for Airman During the week Mr. and Mrs. A. Newton entertained a large number of guests at an enjoyable party for Pilot Officer O. Richmond. The weather conditions being suitable, the guests were entertained on the lawn. Games and dancing were much enjoyed, and Miss S. Doran won a bean hunt. Music for community singing and dancing was supplied by Misses N. Coates and S. Doran. Bayley, Fort Dorset, is spending three weeks’ leave as the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Bayley.—Mrs. J. Bennett, Mr. P. Lewis, and Master Pat Lewis, who have been the guests of Mrs. J. McGregor, have returned to Ruatoria.—Mrs. B. Moscrip and her infant son Gerald, Te Awamutu, are the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Newton.— Miss J!
