The Sunday New York Times publishes a striking illustrated interview with the Australian Minister, Mr. R. G. Casey, by Miss Eleanor Kittredge in which Australia’s war effort is reviewed. We know that our hope of salvation as a free and independent people rests with the survival of Britain.” Mr. Casey pointed out that the British-Japanese alliance had been abandoned in 1921 at the instance of Canada and Washington. Referring to Australia’s relations; with the United States Mr. Casey said:, “I am content to rest in confidence upon our common outlook of life and ideals.
