JOCKEYS INJURED
FALL IN HURDLE RACE Inquiries necessitating their removal to hospital were suffered by two jockeys whose horses fell in the Waiwera Hurdles event at Ellerslie racecourse on Wednesday. One of the riders, Donald McKinnon, aged 21, single, of Huntly, suffered concussion, a fractured left and possibly a fractured right collarbone. His condition was fairly serious. The other man, David John Burgess, aged 35, married, of Takanini, suffered concussion and was also in a fairly serious condition.
