THREAT BY FRENCH
BOMBING OF BANGKOK CHECK TO AIR RAIDS INDO-CHINA CENTRES (Reed. Dec. 16, 9 a.m.) HANOI, Dee. 14. A French warning to Siam that further air raids on Indo-China will result in drastic French retaliation, including the bombing of Bangkok, is believed to have been responsible for the temporary cessation of aerial warfare. A Saigon message states that the French authorities claim to have smashed the native Communist revolt and broken up a plan to seize French arms and munitions for a march on Saigon. French planes raided the Oubon terminus of the railroad from Bangkok. French officials said that relations between Thailand and Indo-China have temporarily not become worse because the Thai Government has asked for calmness of the people on account of desiring a most successful Bangkok fair, which opened on Sunday last.
