£140,000 IN GEMS SOLD
WOMEN VENDORS’ SECRET LONDON, Sept. 1 A mother and two daughters whose names are being kept secret have put family jewellery worth more than £140,000 into the market. Their first lot of jewellery fetched £80,8t)3 when it was sold by Christie's on July 2. On Tuesday, rings, necklaces, earrings and brooches worth £60,000 will be auctioned, also by Christie’s. A representative of the auctioneers said: “We do not know to whom' the jewels belong. They were brought by the family’s agents. The agents said: "We cannot say who owns the jewels, or why they are being sold.”
