. (Herald Correspondent.) At the weekly card tournament of the Kopuawhara Play. Reading Society the winner of the gentlemen’s prize was Mr. C. Tamm, and of the Indies' prize Mrs. H. A. Highet. Mr. R. Nathan was the M.C.. and supper was served by Mrs. Highet and the social committee. Mrs. W. A. Riley and family have returned from a visit to Wairoa.— Mrs. .T. L. Crisp and infant. No. .1 Camp, have returned from Gisborne. —Mrs. C. W. Gorkin and David and Dawn grp visitors to Wairoa. Prospects for the tennis season Seem bright, judging by the entries being received for the opening day, September 7. Already, Mr. C. B. Hornig, the energetic club secretary, and a hard-working band have improved the approaches' to the court ?.nd erected an up-to-date volley board fer the club.
