AIM OF NAZIS MESSAGE TO AMERICA DENIAL OF DOMINATION DEMAND FOR FREEDOM END TO SEA CONTROL (Klrr. 'JVI. Copyright United Press Assn.) (Reed. June 17. 10 a.m.). NEW YORK. June 15. Herr Hitler, in an interview with the American journalist von Wiegand, representing the Hearst press, said that Germany was not interested in the Americas, but the Monroe Doctrine should prevent the Americas from interfering in Europe. “I know the United States delivery of planes and materials will not affect the outcome of the war,” said Herr Hitler. • “The Allies will lose because oi bad military organisation and worse leadership. “I never intended to destroy the British Empire; on the contrary, 1 offered armed assistance to safeguard it. I asked only for Britain to protect the German coast in event of war, and also for colonies—which I will get. My offer was scorned, while it is openly declared and printed in London that German must be broken up and disarmed. “Capitalistic Clique” “One thing will be destroyed, namely, the capitalistic clique which was prepared to sacrifice 1,000,000 lives for petty interests. It will be destroyed not by me, but by their people.” Herr Hitler is reported to have declared that this war certainly would scrap the British system of sea control, which would be the greatest blessing for the world. “The freedom of the seas which Germany has in mind,” said Hen Hitler, “is an absolute indisputable right. All non-belligerents shall use the seas to trade among themselves unconditionally and without control by warring nations.” He added that Germany had no territorial or political interests in the Mediterranean. “Germany refuses to accept conceptions whereby everybody is entitled to interfere everywhere in everything,” he said. “If certain nations, principally Britain and France, see fit to declare that they alone have interests throughout the world, that constitutes a claim to world domination which awakening peoples will not tolerate. Get many will not tolerate other Powers concerning themselves with her living space. Germany will not intrude her affairs outside her own vital sphere, which is mainly the concern of other nations. Rhine Frontier “When members of the British Cabinet declare that England’s frontier is the Rhine, this is the limit of stupidity and unbearable arrogance We shall settle the question of the Rhine frontier for all time. So in future it. is to be hoped that British Prime Ministers will not be liable to such geographic delusions. “There can be no real peace unless the vital requirements of great nations are duly respected. lam aware of the fact that this aim cannot be reached by treaties alone, but fnust be realised by dawning reason within the nations. If a military defeat of Britain and France should bring victory for reason, even those countries’ sacrifices in Hi is war may not be so vain as they now seem.”
