ELECTRICITY GUARANTEES
Complaints from country consumers that they had been charged lor electricity they had not used were discussed at to-day’s meeting of the Poverty Bay Electric-Power Board. Mr. C. Mills said that many people appeared to have overlooked their obligations under the guarantees, under which they had agreed to pay for a certain consumption. He asked if care was taken, at the time the guarantees were entered into, to impress upon the consumers that they were obliged to pay the amount mentioned in the agreement form. The managingsecretary, Mr. R. P. Baigent, said that the obligations of the consumers were always explained to them, but it was sometimes found that, when consumers failed to use a supply equal to the guaranteed amount, they desired adjustments. The board agreed io send explanatory letters to consumers when new guarantees were entered into.
