FIRST FRENCH CRAFT
LOSS OF DESTROYER SEQUEL TO EXPLOSION (Reed. March 29, 11 a.m.) LONDON, March 28. Following the official announcement made yesterday in Paris stating that seven men were killed and several were missing as a result of an explosion in the destroyer La Railleuse, the Rome radio to-day announced that the destroyer broke in two and sank a few seconds after the explosion, which occurred near Casablanca. The Rome version states that the casualties are believed to be 100. This was the first French warship lost since the outbreak of the war.
