PROTESTS IGNORED
NORWAY’S OBJECTIONS LAYING OF MINES VIOLATION OF LAW (Reed. March 1, noon.) OSLO, Feb. 29. The Norwegian Foreign Minister, M. Koht, stated in Parliament to-day that Denmark, Sweden and Norway separately were making application for the cessation of mine-laying because such action violated international law. Norway could not grant the German demand to cut off shipping to England. Germany had not justified the sinking of Norwegian ships which touched British control ports. Germany had not replied to the Norwegian protests, nor to the demands for compensation.
