MARRIAGE BOOM
FEBRUARY POPULAR GISBORNE STATISTICS February proved a popular month for marriages in Gisborne, according to marriage notices issued by the registrar. Thirty notices were issued, compared with 18 in February last year, while the total for the year to date is 55, compared with 29 during the first two months last year. Births showed a slight decline from 46 in February last year to 41 last month, while deaths increased sharply from the small number of six in February last year to 17 last month. - A summary of the figures for February and for the first two months of the year, compared with the corresponding figures last year, is given below: —
