BODY ON ROADSIDE
BASE OF POWER POLE YOUNG MAN’S FATE
(Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. The body of a man, apparently between the age of 25 and 30, was found early this morning in a depression at the foot of a power transformer pole by the side of the main road, about a mile from Papakura military camp. The body has not yet been identified. It is believed that the dead man was a soldier as lie was wearing khaki trousers, a great shirt and socks, but was also wearing shoes which were not of the military type. It is believed that he fell from the pole, grasped one wire with his right hand and stood on another wire. The feet and one hand had marks of burning. The head also was injured, this probably being caused by the fall. Detectives are endeavouring to ascertain if anyone is missing from Papakura camp.
