FUNERAL IN WAIROA

LATE MR. H.G. SCHWASS SERVICE AT ST. PAUL’S The funeral of the late Mr. Henry G. Schwass took place on Thursday at the Wairoa cemetery. The service, which was held in St. Paul’s Anglican Church, was conducted by the Rev. J, G. Talbot, and there was a large congregation. The late Mr. Schwass was 52 years of age and was born in Marton. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. C. Schwass, and spent the early part of his life in Taranaki. Prior to talcing up a position on Waiomoko station two years ago, the deceased was on Opoho station, Nuhaka, for 12 years, and made many friends in that district! A member of the A.0.D., Brother' Aubrey Mayo, A.D., performed the Druid ritual at the graveside. Messrs. P. Mallon, S. Dickie, A. Gordon, J. Wilson, J. Taylor and J. Bretherton, members of the lodge, bore the casket to the graveside. Besides his widow, the deceased is mourned by bis father, five brothers, and one sister, five son? and two daughters. The immediate family consists of Messrs. Henry and Eric Schwass, Nuhaka, Mr. Royden Schwass, Christchurch, and Messrs. Clarence and Christopher Schwass, Whangara; Mrs. N. Alexander, Nuhaka, and Miss Dolly Schwass, Whangara. To them is extended deep sympathy in their tragic loss.
