Re-opening of Schools

The ringing of school bells this morning announced the close of the summer vacation and children, returned to their studies. Many of the children who helped to swell the traffic on the roads leading to the schools were just of school age and others were cycling to the Gisborne High School to start their year’s work in the Held of secondary education. Other students at the High School do not return until to-morrow morning. Blind Institute Funds Members of the Gisborne Rotary Club were reminded at to-day s luncheon gathering that a stock drive on behalf of the New Zealand Blind Institute will be conducted to-morrow in connection with the Ewe Fair at the Matawhero yards. Rotarian C. O. Hansen was stated to have the arrangements in hand, and fellow members of the club were asked by the president Rotarian I. J. Quigley, to tender whal assistance lay in their power to make the drive a success.
