WAIROA CLUB’S MEETING SPOILED BY RAIN (Special to the Herald.) WAIROA, this day. Intermittent showers and indications that a thunderstorm was approaching had the effect of robbing the Wairoa Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club’s fortnightly sports meeting of much of its interest on Tuesday evening. The fields were seriously curtailed, with the result that instead of dividing the events up into seniors and juniors, they were all made open. No times were taken. The following are the results:— Men’s Events. 100yds. Open (0 starters). —H. Cook, 1; J. Crarer, 2; R. Brownlie and I. Pilkington, equal, 3. 880vds. Open (6 starters).—R. Clark, 1; A. King, 2; C. W.
