CENTENNIAL TOURNEY PAIRS PLAY STARTS HOLDERS' EASY WIN FIRST ROUND RESULTS (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Bowlers in the New Zealand Centennial tournament competed to-day in section play for the pairs championship, the entries for which totalled 2GG. Four games of 21 heads will be completed to-day and to-morrow. Postsection play in this event on the sudden death principle will take place. J. Anchor and W. J. Robinson, of the Hamilton club, the holders of the title, won their game this morning by a comfortable margin. The greens were holding after an early morning shower, and a strong northerly wind troubled the players.
