Small Girl’s Disappearance
Considerable excitement was caused among several thousand people at the Mount, Tauranga, when a report, was circulated that a 10-year-old girl was missing and was believed to have been swept out to sea. A search was imrnej diately commenced, members of the I surf club on their surf skis going j about 100yds. out to sea in an endeav- ! our to find the child. At the height: ! of the search, however, the girl | reappeared, having been digging for | shellfish round the corner out of sight of her relatives, quite unaware of i the excitement which she had caused.
