HOME-KILLED PORK BRITONS’ RATIONS LONDON, Jan. 1. British householders may keep a pig to slaughter for their own use. This has been decided by the Ministry of Food. The Ministry puts householders “on their honour” to eat only Jib. each of their own pig each week, and to file a ration coupon each time they do so. Rationing of sugar in Britain will not affect Queensland. Early in September Britain took over Australia's exportable surplus for the duration of the war. Rationing is more likely to hit growers in Cuba. It is expected to reduce by onequarter Britain’s normal sugar consumption of 2,400,000 tons'a year. Home production, from sugar beet, has increased by 15 per cent to 500,000 tons. This will further reduce imports,
