ORMOND NEWS
FAREWELL FUNCTION SOLDIERS .ON LEAVE (Herald Correspondent.) A very enjoyable social evening was held in the Ormond Hall recently as a send-off to Messrs Percy Lovelock and Stanley Hyde, who were home from camp on final leave. The evening was given a fillip by the presence of pipers, Messrs H. and G. Davidson, and a drummer, Mr. Clarke. Later Mr. J. Winning sang some well known songs. During the evening Messrs, T. Jones and Mr. J. Mcßae spoke on behalf of the residents and wished the guests of honour the best of luck and a safe return. The speakers also hoped that all would have the pleasure of being present at a similar function to welcome them home.
Mr. W. Bowes, an ex-serviceman, made presentations on behalf of the Ormond residents.
The music was supplied by Mr. H. Lennane, extras being played by Miss Colebrook.
