Presentation to Bride-Elect
The members of the senior and junior girls' club met on Wednesday at the Salvation Army Hall for the purpose of making a presentation to a popular member of the senior club, Miss Madge Walker, whose marriage to Mr. Charles Cole, of Auckland, will take place shortly. In asking Miss Walker to accept a handsome set of pyrex dishes, the secretary, Mrs. If. Cults, referred to their very pleasant association, and wished her, on behalf of the clulg, every happiness in the future. Good wishes also were conveyed to Miss Walker by the president, Mrs. P. Smith, who endorsed Mrs. Cutts’ remarks.
The gift and good wishes were suitably acknowledged by the recipient, whose future home will be in Auckland.
Musical and elocutionary numbers were contributed by the members of both clubs, and competitions were entered into with enthusiasm.
A delicious supper was served informally.
