GENEROUS RESPONSE

CHRISTMAS CHEER FUND DONATIONS BY CHINESE A generous response to an appeal among the Chinese in Gisborne has resulted in the collection of £29 15s, which will be given as a donation from the Chinese to the Cook Hospital authorities for, the Christmas cheer fund. The collection was taken up by means of a subscription list and will mean much to those making arrangements for the Christmas festivities at the hospital. The response to similar hospital appeals has been good in the past, but this large donation should provide many extra little comforts and amusements during the festive season.
