GRANT ANNOUNCED
SCHOOL FURNITURE GISBORNE INTERMEDIATE Advice lias been received by Mr. D. W. Coleman, M.P., in a telegram today from the Minister of Education, (he Hon. P. Fraser, that tire Cabinet had approved of a grant for furniture for the new intermediate school in Gisborne. No information is available concerning tire amount of the grant or the nature of the furniture to be installed. Proposals had been made that furniture from some of the other town schools might be utilised for the purpose, but, on the other hand, endeavours were being made to secure new equipment. It is not known how far negotiations have proceeded in this direction.
