TRAINING OF NURSES
The question of establishing nursing colleges or cenetralised preliminary training schools is still under consideration by the Health Department, according to advice received by the Auckland Hospital Board. It was suggested at a Conference of the Hospital Boards’ Association that, in view of the difficulties of obtaining adequate staff, the training of nurses should be placed on a similar footing to that adopted by the Education Department in preparing candidates for the teaching profession.
