Lieutenant-Commander J. C. Elworthy, Royal Navy (retired), who was an aide-de-camp to Lord Bledisloe, has been temporarily appointed i.o the New Zealand naval forces.
Detective-Sergeant G. Taylor, of the detective office at the central police station, Dunedin, has received notice of his transfer to Oamaru as detectivesergeant. He has been stationed in Dunedin for the last 18 years. The following new members were elected at a meeting of the committee of the Wairoa County Agricultural and Pastoral Society yesterday:—Tairawhiti District Pig Council, Mr. G. A. Sceats, Gisiborne, secretary; Messrs. J. Reid and W. 'Beecham; junior members, Messrs. P. D. Jeffreys and R. F. Martin.—‘Special.
