PLEASURE MOTORING
THE USE OF TRUCKS
It is believed that the authorities rationing petrol have been surprised at the extent of a practice by employers in permitting their drivers the use of commercial vehicles for evening or week-end outings. Applications* for special petrol coupons for light trucks registered as commercial vehicles that also for pleasure purposes to some evtedt are known to have been much heavier than was anticipated. Quite a number of employers providing certificates to ther drivers that are necessary to obtain the special coupons are limited companies. When the extension of the coupon system to light trucks used for pleasure purposes was first announced, it was stated that quantities of mo'or spirit permitted would be decided by the individual circumstances. However,in practice the issue has been for 10 gallons a month, as for private cars.
