LACK OF INTEREST

FLEECE WOOL SECTION WAIROA A. & P. SOCIETY (Special to tlfc Hera hi.) WAIROA, this day. The lack o! interest displayed in the fleece wool section of the Wairoa Agricultural and Pastoral Show was the subject of some discussion at a meeting of the general committee of the Agricultural and Pastoral Society yesterday. Suggestions l'or improving, the response were marie by several members. (Tie of the reasons for the lack of interest, it was stated, was that considerable time empsed between shearing and the Show date, while others were of tire opinion that the fact that fleeces were, in most cases, skirted before the owner could make a selection also resulted in a greater number of entries not forthcoming. One member suggested that if the societv was interested in increasing the interest in this section the members of the committee themselves should do something tangible. One of the best ways of encouraging entries would be for every member of the committee to show a fleece. It was decided to add another class to the section for farmers in the Wairoa County. This class will be for one crossbred fleece ewe or wether, skirted, any count.
