Husband’s Obligations
Is a wife with a greater income than her husband entitled to receive maintenance? When that question was considered in a reserved judgment by Mr. S. L. Paterson, S.M.. in the Magistrate’s Court, Hamilton, the ' magistrate stated that there was a moral obligation on the part of a man to maintain his wife, irrespective of her income, but he had discretionary power in the matter of making an order. In the case before the court, the parties‘were not separated, and he would not make an order.
