ENVOY’S HOME BOMBED
U.S. FAMILY’S ESCAPE HASTY NIGHT FLIGHT (Reed. Sept. 4, 3 p.m.) NEW YORK, Sept. 3. Further details of the bombing by a German plane of the suburban heme of Mr. A. J. Drexell Biddle, American Ambassador in Warsaw, show that a bomb fragment shattered the wall midway between Mrs. Biddle and her daughter. Another bomb landed directly in front of the villa and failed to explode. The Biddle family lied to Warsaw so hastily that they were forced to don part of their clothing in a motor car. They spent the night at the Embassy, since their city home is in the danger zone.
