AGREEMENT RECALLED
SUBMARINE WARFARE (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 9 a.m. RUGBY, Sept. 3. In answer to numerous inquiries, it is stated that following the signing of the Anglo-German naval agreement in 1935, Germany agreed to adhere to the rules regarding submarine warfare, as set out in Part IV of the London Naval Treaty, 1930, and to accept them for herself, irrespective of whether they were accepted by other Powers. The London Naval Conference agreed that submarines “must conform to the rules of international law to which surface vessels are subject.’-’
