LONDON APPOINTMENTS NEW HOME SECRETARY MILITARY LEADERS GOIiT AND IRONSIDE (Elcc. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Sept. 5, 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 4. Further Cabinet appointments apart from the war Cabinet, are as follows: — Lord President of the Council. — Earl Stanhope. Lord Chancellor.—Sir Thomas Inskip. Home Secretary and Minister of Home ,Security.—Sir John Anderson. Mr. Chamberlain’s rank is Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury. Mr. Anthony Eden took office today as the Dominions Secretary and though not a member of the War Cabinet he attends the Cabinet meetings in order to keep the Dominions apprised at all times. The King has appointed General Viscount Gort as Commander-in-Chief ot the British field forces, General Sir Edmund Ironside as chief of the Imperial General Staff and General Sir Walter Kirke as com-mander-in-chief of the home forces. The Paris correspondent of the British United Press states that the appointment of Mr. Winston Churchill as First Lord of the Admiralty, has aroused public and official enthusiasm. It is declared th:T. l:a is the right man in the right place.
