OFFERS OF SERVICES THOUSANDS IN SYDNEY (Reed. Sept. 5, 11.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, Sept 4. Thousands of men of all ages gathered at the Victoria military barracks, Sydney, to-day, to enlist for military duty. Officials were compelled to inform the applicants that at present there was no call for general service, but former members of the services were invited to join Die Army Reserve through the Returned Soldiers’ and Sailors’ League. Similar eagerness to serve is reported from other States.
