LAMBING IN WAIRARAPA
WELL UP TO AVERAGE Lamb'ings well up to average are recorded by Wairarapa farmers this season, trouble with ewes being agreeably abshnt. August proved particularly mi]d, making ideal lambing conditions. It is considered by some farmers that the drought earlier in the year resulted in Southdown ewes carrying less condition than usual, and to this fact* is attributed the unusual lack of trouble with ewes at lambing time. In hill country lambing is sMll proceeding, with all indications of a season equally as favourable as that experienced by farmers on the plains
