HOARDING OF FOOD
OFFICIAL PROHIBITION

An official order has been issued under the defence regulations prohibiting the acquisition and purchase of excessive quantities of food.
It is now an offence to buy more than a week’s supply of any commodity.
KING VISITS ADMIRALTY

The King, accompanied by the Duke oif Kent, visited the Admiralty and studied the emergency measures.

CHANNEL SHIP RECALLED
(Reed. Sept. 1, noon.) LONDON, Aug. 31. The Channel steamer, Queen of the Channel, crowded with 1000 holi-day-makers, was recalled by wireless when seven miles from Boulogne.
RESTRICTION ON FLYING
(Reed. Sept. 1, 12 noon) LONDON, Aug. 31
The Air Ministry has announced restrictions on the flights of all civil aircraft in the United Kingdom, The r.rohibited areas include Invergordon, Weymouth and Scapa Flow.
