GERMANY’S ‘FAST TROOPS’
NEW UNITS ANNOUNCED
BERLIN, July 9
The German Army, authorities announce that new units, to be known as “fast troops”—Schnelle Truppen—will include mounted infantry, cavalry, armoured cars, tanks, motorcycle troops, bicycle battalions, antitank artillery, motorised riflemen and motorised reconnaissance forces.
The mounted and bicycle forces will be divided into squadrons under nr officer, who will have the rank of a cavalry captain. All other forces will have the company as their unit.
