SOUTHAMPTON-AUCKLAND

EXPECTED THIS MONTH

It was announced last night by the Minister of Aviation, the Hon. F. Jones, that advice had been received through Union Airways that the flying-boat, Aotearoa would probably ■be despatched from Southampton for New Zealand on August 15, arriving at Auckland on or about Sunday, August 27. The following crew is to bring the bbat out to New . Zealand. Commander, Captain J. W. Burgess: first officer, Mr. W. J. Craig: radio officer, Mr. Cussans; flight steward, Mr. R. A. Phillips. Four ground engineers will accompany the boat, these being Messrs. Knee, Peak, McNamara, and Bradshaw. They are to be attached to the base at Mechanics’ Bay, Auckland. It is expected that the delivery flight will occupy about 12 days.
