Pilots’ Error
The grounding of the Cunard liner Franconia in the St Lawrence river on July 12 was caused by a grave error of judgment by the pilot, Edmond Lamontagne, Mr Justice Smith ruled on Friday. He ordered the suspension of the pilot’s licence for the remainder of the 1950 navigation season. —Ottawa, October 1.
