MISS Z. HUDSON WINS WOMEN’S GOLF TITLE

HASTINGS, September 28 (P.A.). —The New Zealand women’s golf championship was won brilliantly by the title-holder, Miss Z. Hudson (Christchurch) at Hastings today, when she beat Miss Hargaret Hughes (Auckland), 10 and 9. Throughout Miss Hudson was in complete command. She played the finest golf seen during the tournament to be round in the morning in scratch, 72, which made her 7 up. After lunch she increased her lead to 10 at the 21st hole. Miss Hughes rallied a little, but never looked like offering strong opposition, and lost the game on the 27th green after taking 3 to get out of a bunker. Miss Judy Smith (Napier) won the New' Zealand Plate, played over 18 holes. She beat Miss K. O’Sullivan (Hawera). 5 and 3. Miss Smith won four of the first six holes and never lost her grip, being 4 up at the turn. She was 'out in 40 to her opponent s 44.
