TWO MEN RECEIVE HEAD INJURIES IN NIGHT ACCIDENTS

Two men suffered head in juries in separate accidents in Greymouth last night. Both were admitted to the Grey Hospital, where their condition is described as satisfactory. Returning to his home at Coal Creek after the completion of work about one o’clock this morning, assistant supervisor, telegraph branch, Chief Post Office, Louie Baden Roper, aged 30, a single man, collided with the rear of the pie-car in Mackay street. Roper was riding an autocycle, and it was raining heavily at the time. He received facial lacerations and slight concussion. A waterside worker, William John Gleeson, aged 46, married, of 13 Ngarimu street, Greymouth, received slight concussion when struck on the head by a hook on the new electric crane about 10.30 last night. Gleeson was working on the wharf during the loading of the collier Kiwitea. The electric, crane was being used for the first time for a full shift last night when the accident occurred.
